Raizel

Raizel is a Yiddish name associated with the rose. It belongs to a flower-name tradition in which a familiar natural image becomes an affectionate personal name. Raisel is another Roman-letter spelling, reflecting the different ways a Yiddish name can be written when it moves from its original alphabet into English.

The name's ending gives it a diminutive character, so its history is close to an affectionate form rather than to a newly invented botanical word name. Raizel can nevertheless be chosen as the full name on a birth certificate. For a family considering Rose but wanting a Yiddish connection, it offers a related image with a distinct linguistic and cultural history, rather than simply adding decoration to the English spelling.
